Back where she belongs

When her pet cat Chrissie disappeared in February, Anna Kouloubos feared she had used up all her nine lives.

But there must have been at least one left up her sleeve, because the missing moggie turned up at Ms. Kouloubos' back door last week (July 2nd) after almost five months on the loose.

"I knew something was wrong straight away because she never wandered too far from home," Ms. Kouloubos said.

"I ran around calling her name and we put signs up all over Kew. A few people phoned to sympathise but, basically, I heard nothing."

Ms. Kouloubos said she had been through "months of hell" worrying about her furry companion.

But last week, having resigned herself to the fact that she would never see Chrissie again, Ms. Kouloubos heard a familiar miaow outside her back door.

Chrissie "I couldn't believe it. I knew it was her straight away," she said. "I grabbed her and hugged her. I was crying hysterically, I was so happy to see her. Now she follows me everywhere I go."

"The vet thinks she may have hurt her head at some stage and someone must have been taking care of her."

"But she managed to find her way home.

She wanted to be with me."
