In 1998, Bev Aisbett created and facilitated the “WORKING WITH IT” recovery program for sufferers of anxiety – since this time the program has been run as both a five week and a double weekend workshop. Her programs have steered hundreds of people towards greater freedom and recovery from this crippling condition.

Bev now will be presenting a new condensed version of her program over one day – the program is called ‘WORKING IT OUT’.

Bev herself has intimate knowledge of the distress resulting from severe depression and anxiety. In 1991, she was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and possible manic depression shortly after establishing herself as a freelance cartoonist and illustrator. Her experience, and subsequent recovery, has led her to dedicate the past decade to helping others overcome these disorders.

Now an author and trained counsellor, Bev has reached thousands of sufferers through her books, lectures, interviews and workshops. Recently, she also put together "THE IT KIT", a print and audio replication of the live "WORKING WITH IT" workshops designed to bring its benefits to those who are not able to attend.

Bev Aisbett's books, lectures and workshops have steadily gained recognition by doctors, psychologists and even government rehabilitation services as being highly effective in terms of speeding up the recovery process.

Bev’s reassuring and common sense approach to problem solving, self-awareness and empowerment has led graduates of her program to consistently report at least a 70% reduction in their anxiety levels and a far more relaxed attitude to life in general.

In this lecture, Bev will be talking about what it's like to experience anxiety and depression, and what to do about it, based on her own experiences and that of the many people who she has met through her recovery programs.
