Outline of Treatment approach: Sally-Anne McCormack is a registered psychologist, a former teacher, and a mother of four. She is a private practitioner who deals with clients of all ages (from children to adults) who have anxiety, depression and related disorders. She is registered as a media spokesperson for the Australian Psychological Society (A.P.S.) and can often be heard on 3AW radio (693 AM) in Melbourne on weekends with Denis Walter. Sally-Anne assists adults who are facing challenges such as stress, depression, parenting challenges, anxiety, sleep problems (eg. Insomnia), individual issues, along with a variety of other difficulties in their day-to-day lives. She also has specific interests in the prevention and treatment of depression in children and adolescents, and in her practices, she regularly assists parents with the issues they face raising their children and teens in the 21 st century. She has now become accredited to support a self-help sleep program. She is the author of the “Life Strategies Programs” which are group sessions for children and adolescents to help prevent negative self-talk and teach positive and pro-active strategies to reduce the risk of developing mental health issues in the future. She also runs adult group sessions for Dealing with Depression (currently with another psychologist). In her “spare time” she is hoping to publish 2 books in 2008 – one on parenting gifted students, and the other on child & adolescent depression. Sally-Anne’s websites both provide an events calendar so people can find out where she is speaking and on which particular topics. Please register for newsletters on both sites (which are FREE) to be kept up-to-date on parenting strategies, current programs, or other helpful information.
