Outline of Treatment approach:

I use a range of therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioural, interpersonal, solution focused, gestalt, humanistic, psychodynamic and hypnosis.  My approach is tailored to the individual needs of the client.

I believe that the process of participating in therapy can help to find a new view on things, to explore and identify alternative ways of responding to events in our lives, and to develop new skills.  With the new awareness this brings comes opportunities and greater choice in how we live our lives.

I work collaboratively with an emphasis on providing a professional, safe and supportive environment in which my clients can move towards the achievement of their goals.

People seek out my services for many reasons some of these may include:

  1. Relationship difficulties
  2. Coping with a crisis
  3. Changes in lifestyle
  4. Loss (person, relationship, job)
  5. Coping with infertility
  6. Recovering from a traumatic event
  7. Desire for personal exploration/growth

Many of the ways these and other events may impact on us also bring people to therapy including:

  • Anxiety
  • Panic attacks
  • Depression
  • Grief
  • Stress
  • Anger
  • Relationship breakdown
  • Difficulties making decisions
  • Difficulties with self-esteem
  • Difficulties with assertiveness
